My name is Kelsey and I am a counsellor and Registered Social Worker (RSW) with BCCSW. I graduated in 2020 from the University of Toronto with a Master of Social Work (MSW) alongside a Collaborative Specialization in Addiction Studies. I am currently accepting new clients on Fridays at Peak Experience.

As a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, I have experience working with traumas both big and small. Trauma is no longer seen as something that is limited to going through life-threatening situations. We may experience trauma when there is a breakdown of an important relationship in our life, we have challenging family histories, have lost a loved one, or were bullied during our school years.

I often work with clients who may be struggling with:

Anxiety Depression Unresolved trauma Substance or alcohol misuse Behavioural addictions Low motivation or feeling “stuck” Stress, burnout, or feeling overwhelmed

I am passionate about the importance of our mind-body connections, and how we can nurture these in therapy, in order to experience deeper healing. I offer tools that both include, and go beyond, traditional talk therapy. My therapeutic approaches include EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, and ACT.

When I’m not seeing clients at Peak Experience Counselling, I work at a local community mental health clinic, with a focus on running mental health and addiction groups. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the mountains, forests, and rivers around Squamish with my dog Buffy.

My name is Christie Holmes and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

My approach to counselling is holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I believe that each person’s journey is unique and take an intersectional lens to explore all aspects of a person and their lived experiences.

In my therapeutic practice, I am passionate about the ways in which community, resilience, and the mind-body connection can heal. I draw from Attachment-based, Emotions-focused, Internal Family Systems, Somatic, and Narrative models of practice. I believe that no one approach fits all and work from a collaborative space to better understand your needs.

In my work with adults, couples, and youth (age 14+), I focus on the following areas:

• Anxiety and Depression • Trauma • Relationship challenges • Substance use and Addictions • Grief and Loss • Self-esteem and Perfectionism • Life transitions

Healing comes in many forms and it is a great privilege to do this work alongside you. I hope to provide a warm, non-judgemental, and safe space for others to work through painful and challenging life circumstances in order to connect with their true and authentic selves.

I have a background in non-profit work, community advocacy, and educational leadership programming. In my previous counselling role through Vancouver Coastal Health, I supported diverse adult populations with substance use challenges and co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
