My name is Sara Place and I am a Registered Clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors and co-owner of Peak Experience Counselling in Squamish.

I am grateful to have had a career path which has allowed me to work in the fields of mental health and education, supporting children, youth, and families in various roles over the years.  I have worked in the education system for 15 years, many of which have been in a school with a mental health focus.  This experience led me to pursue my Clinical Counseling Masters and find a balance of private and public work.  I am available to work with individuals, families, couples and groups.

It is my honour to deeply listen and support your personal journey through whatever life circumstance brings you to counselling.  I value your individual experience, and my approach to counselling will be personalized - with your identity, expertise, and goals as the driving force of our sessions.

In sessions with me you can be assured of a feeling a sense of safety, confidentiality, belonging, and acceptance.

Hello! My name is Olessia and I hold a Masters degree in counselling and am currently in the process of becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

My approach to counselling is that of being open and warm, collaborative and integrative, creating a safe space for us to explore your experiences and for me to support you in navigating your unique journey in growth.

Truthfully, I have yet to meet a person who has a rich life and depth of character who had it easy. I believe that life’s challenges can be a source of transformation and deepening of life’s experience. Our struggles are openings and opportunities to rediscover our greatness and experience life a little more fully, so that one day we can proudly look back and say, “Wow, what a journey this life has been!”

I also believe that life is richer in connection with ourselves and others. Although relationships can be challenging, complicated, and confusing; they can also be healthy and healing, joyful and rewarding, and a secure base to explore the beauty of life from. I work with people to help bring them in alignment with relational goals they have for themselves.

I bring a calm, warm, and non-judgmental energy to my practice with individuals and couples. Whatever your challenges, I welcome all of you. Let’s explore what’s happening for you and see how you can get closer to a life that feels a little lighter, brighter, and more meaningful for you!

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

I am a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching for the last few years. I have also sat in multiple silent meditation courses, learning and practicing vipassana, which is a type of mindfulness meditation, and I bring that presence and awareness to my practice. Prior to teaching yoga, I had a career in corporate/finance and can certainly empathize with challenges that arise in that kind of environment, as well as questioning one’s path and going through life transitions.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

Because each individual is unique, I practice from an Integrative approach. This means I pull from various theories and therapies, including: Humanistic/Existential (which helps clients understand themselves, their values and desires, as they journey towards their “highest” and most authentic selves); Acceptance and Commitment (helps clients align their behaviours and life with what matters most to them); Attachment (a way of understanding how we establish and maintain connection with others); Somatic (connects our life experiences to how they live in the body); and Solution-Focused (a brief form of therapy focused on finding ways of working through specific issues).

My name is Tori Wood and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and sports-focused mental health coach.

My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable setting to work together with my clients to help guide them through the counselling experience.

General Mental Health Focuses

In general, I work with youth, teens and adults struggling with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, disordered eating, self-esteem, OCD, ADHD and life transitions. I work with a trauma informed framework - understanding the intricacies of navigating trauma work and healing. Specifically, I have ample experience working with individuals that have been impacted by trauma in the mountains and mountain sports.

Sports Psychology & Mental Performance

I also specialize in working with athletes. Weather you’re a professional athlete or just an avid enthusiast for movement, I can help guide you through the mental health issues related to sport and an active lifestyle. Some examples of these issues are recovering from injury and accidents, building confidence, creating a balanced lifestyle and working on motivation and goal setting. Additionally, I help individuals with strategies to work with fear and overcome mental blocks in sport.

Men’s Mental Health Issues

The growing amount of men seeking out counselling has encouraged me to pursue additional education on men’s mental health issues. Some of these include depression, substance abuse, anger, dating and relationship difficulties, self-esteem, sexual performance anxiety, porn-addiction, and finding purpose and meaning through discovering personal values.

Personally, I am a mountain biker, skier and mental health advocate. I believe in the healing power of adventure and the outdoors and have lived on the West Coast for over ten years.

I believe my role as a counsellor and mental health coach is to provide genuine conversation and to work in a collaborative relationship to help clients build confidence and faith in themselves.

Hello! My name is Kelly, and I am passionately working towards completing my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University.

I was drawn to pursue a career as a counsellor because of my deep interest in self-growth. This self-work, done with the help of my own therapist, has provided me a safe space to see myself more clearly with compassion and nonjudgment. The result has led me to a deeper understanding and confidence in myself and my life choices, as they are more grounded in truth and authenticity.

As a counsellor, I provide a warm accepting environment in which you to feel safe to share your challenges and insights at your own pace. The values I bring to the therapy process are authenticity, integrity, honesty, and confidentiality. We work together to deepen an understanding of where you are at and make goals to support you to getting where you’d like to be.

My approach to therapy is informed by emotion-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy and somatic work.

My former careers include being a classroom teacher, training the blind and visually impaired, and a vision therapist. I am a proud and loving mother to my 14- and 10-year-old children.

I love living in Squamish where I’ve been for the past five years. I enjoy hiking, yoga, and spending time with my family.

Currently, I am working with adults and youth aged 14 and older.

Rhianna Williams is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC #19779) holding a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care.

Originally from the West Kootenay region of B.C., Rhianna grew up in a family that was impacted by much adversities and that instilled in her a strong sense of community and values centered around love and mutual support. Rhianna’s career journey began with a desire to find meaningful, values-based life’s work and to gain the tools and insights needed to make sense of the people, places, and experiences that shaped her early life.

Before becoming a RCC, Rhianna worked for over a decade as a Youth and Family Outreach Counsellor and Youth Care Worker in both the public health and nonprofit sectors. Today, her clinical practice focuses on supporting individuals, couples, and parents.

WORK WITH PARENTS: Becoming a parent is one of life’s most pivotal and impactful experiences. Parenting is hard—especially in an age of information overload, social media comparisons, high cost of living and reduced access to extended family or close-knit communities. It’s okay to need support! Our nervous systems were not designed to be superhuman. Many parents feel on the edge of a breakdown, juggling life stressors. Rhianna approaches parent coaching with a family systems, developmental, and attachment-oriented perspective, drawing on her years of experience with youth and families. She incorporates practical tools from the Positive Discipline Parenting (https://www.positivediscipline.com/about-positive-discipline) to help unburden parents by reducing power struggles and to support children to become responsible, respectful, and resourceful individuals.

WORK WITH COUPLES: Her interest in working with couples comes from both personal and professional experiences. As a Youth Care Worker, she saw firsthand that individuals can undergo extensive therapy, but lasting change is unlikely if the systems around them remain unchanged. Supporting parents and couples became a natural career progression and way for her to promote child and youth well-being. Additionally, after experiencing numerous so-called “failed” relationships in her 20s, she took time for self-reflection, asking, “What is my part in this?” and “What does a healthy relationship look like?” This journey of self-discovery, combined with her master’s studies, inspired her to focus her clinical practice in part on couples and parents. Her work with couples incorporates Emotion-Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, offering concrete tools and process-oriented approaches that help couples feel more heard, understood, and connected, while reducing conflict and fostering peaceful, nurturing homes where individuals and families can thrive.

WORK WITH INDIVIDUALS: Rhianna’s work with individuals centers on meeting clients where they are at, helping them to thrive and become their most authentic, connected selves while building emotional resilience. Common areas of focus include addressing the impacts of anxiety, depression, neurodivergence (including ADHD), addiction issues, interpersonal conflict, attachment issues, life transitions, reparenting and processing childhood trauma, grief and loss. Rhianna offers in-person, walk-and-talk, and video sessions. Her practice is grounded in a biopsychosocial, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approach. She utilizes various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Structural Family Therapy. She is also trained in Nature-Based Therapy and is a Positive Discipline Parenting coach.

ACCESSIBILITY: Rhianna is committed to making mental health care accessible. She partners with various counselling assistance funds and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), including Whistler and Sea to Sky Community Services, Pearls Place, CVAP, and the Vail Employee Assistance Program and the Squamish Nation.

For more information or to schedule a consultation or initial session, please book through the Jane app or contact Rhianna at rhiannawilliamscounselling@gmail.com or 604-354-6571. Hi, I’m Nicole, a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with specialized training in Somatic (body) Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I have over a decade of experience working in hospice palliative care and opened an online private practice in 2021. I am very excited to be able to expand into offering in-person sessions with the team at Peak Experience Counselling.

Therapy can support clients in exploring personal patterns that may no longer serve them. Together, we work to acknowledge symptoms or patterns, as adaptations that have helped us survive, to become more aware of our nervous system and to understand how our bodies inform us. As we begin to see our patterns, with self-compassion and acceptance, we can begin to change, build new supportive resources, discover new skills, and create a personalized tool kit to move forward.

As a relational therapist, I believe that when people have the opportunity to feel seen and heard, they can work through old trauma and find grounding in this connection and in themselves. My counselling style centres around the therapeutic relationship and collaborative goal setting while providing safety, connection, empathy, understanding, professional insight and therapeutic approaches to help individuals soften their edges and move in a preferred direction.

Creating safety requires honesty and openness from both the client and counsellor. Together, we work to better understand the thoughts, feelings, behaviours and past experiences keeping you from wellbeing. Connecting to your inner wisdom, building new skills, and identifying forgotten strengths and values assist in creating positive and sustained change. I work with individuals (18+) ready to step towards healing, meeting them where they are and gently challenging them to grow toward their goals.

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I’m a counsellor, registered social worker (MSW/RSW), and EMDR therapist. I work with adults and youth (ages 14+), offering individual counselling and EMDR therapy.

My focus is on helping people navigate anxiety, work through trauma and supporting those who would like to make changes to their drinking or substance use.

I take a curious and compassionate approach, getting to know you and the unique experiences that have shaped your life. Together, we’ll look at how your past connects to the patterns you’d like to change, all in a safe and non-judgmental space. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with what matters most to you.

TRAUMA AND EMDR THERAPY

Trauma isn’t always about big events; sometimes it’s the smaller, overwhelming experiences that leave a lasting impact. Many common challenges like anxiety and depression are tied to unresolved past experiences. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a tool I use to help my clients to process these experiences.

As a fully trained EMDR therapist, I’ll guide you through this process at your pace, helping you:

Work through negative beliefs (examples: “I’m not enough”or “I’m powerless”)

Address trauma-related experiences and symptoms

Feel stronger and more resilient

SOMATIC AND PARTS WORK

Bringing in parts work, listening to your body, and understanding different parts of yourself. This can include:

Recognizing and giving space to parts of yourself that may feel stuck, reactive, or unheard.

Learning to regulate your nervous system by tuning into your body’s signals and responses.

Developing compassion and understanding for all parts of yourself, even the ones that feel challenging.

SUBSTANCE USE AND DRINKING CHANGES

Making changes to substance use or drinking can feel daunting, and I’m here to meet you where you’re at. Whether your goal is abstinence, moderation, or harm reduction, we’ll work together to find the right path for you.

Feeling unsure about change? That’s completely normal. I’ll support you in taking things one step at a time, weaving this work into your other therapy goals.

Some ways I can help include:

CBT and DBT: Building tools and skills to handle challenges and manage urges in the moment.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): Using acceptance, mindfulness and value-focused work to navigate triggers, cravings and align your choices with what’s most important to you.

EMDR Therapy: Working on the deeper beliefs and experiences connected to substance use, so you can feel more in control.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Through our work, I aim to help you:

  • Break free from negative patterns

  • Feel more confident and less anxious

  • Understand and build on your strengths

  • Improve your relationships and communication

  • Gain tools to navigate life’s challenges

TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS

  • Fully Trained EMDR Therapist (Levels 1 and 2)

  • EMDR 2.0 Training (Certificate)

  • EMDR for Complex PTSD (Certificate)

  • Somatic Parts Work Levels 1 and 2

  • Collaborative Specialization in Addictions (University of Toronto) – Completed alongside my Master of Social Work (MSW)
